As part of its new Arts and Culture Education programme, CNCF hosts lectures with the aim of stimulating and further developing the cultural community of Cayman. Although the Distinguished Lecture series is a long-standing event on the Cayfest calendar, lectures have not been prominent on CNCF’s annual programme.
In the near future we will host notable speakers on a variety of topics relating to arts and culture. The Distinguished Lecture series has set the standard with such speakers as renowned Trinidadian artist and poet Leroy Clarke and calypsonian and social commentator Dr. Hollis Liverpool (known in the calypso world as Chalkdust) who spoke on “Calypso – The Definitive Art for Caribbean Unity”.
As we develop this new programme we will invite local, regional and international thought provoking speakers to address our audiences.
