CNCF 25th Anniversary & 2009 National Arts and Culture Awards

On October 23, 2009 Cayman National Cultural Foundation celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a gala reception, entertainment, a video retrospect of CNCF and the National Arts and Culture Awards Ceremony during which the new CNCF Star for Creativity in the Arts Medal and the Heritage Cross Medal were presented for the first time. Below, are photos and short bios of the recipients of the 2009 National Arts and Culture Awards specially produced for the 25th Anniversary of CNCF. Cayfest Young Image Makers Short Film Competition

Cayman National Cultural Foundation and the Cayman Islands Film Commission are initiating a filmmaking competition to encourage an interest in the art of filmmaking among Cayman's youth. The competition is aimed at 10 to 15 year-olds and offers a prize of a one-week scholarship to a New York Film Academy Summer Camp. The competition includes a one-day workshop on basic filmmaking skills.  In order to be selected for the workshop and become a finalist in the competition, students must first submit a 2 - 5 minute video with their application by January 20, 2010. Any type of video recording device can be used. Once students have complete the workshop they will produce a short video that will be entered into the Cayfest Young Image Makers Short Film Competition.
