Past Folk Concerts

Seaside With the Folk Singers

A series of mini performances, 'Seaside with the Folk Singers' took place on Saturday, 7th April 2012 when the Cayman Islands Folk Singers toured the Eastern Districts of Grand Cayman.

The caravan travelled through Bodden Town and on to East End where the first concert was held at a popular beach camping site.

Other stops included:

Morritts Tortuga Club
McLaughlin’s Beach on Queen's Highway, where they were joined by National Hero, Mrs. Sybil McLaughlin
Kaibo Public Beach
Capt. Ned Miller’s residence

The trip concluded at Nurse Josie’s Senior Centre (Bodden Town) where the company performed and then feasted on fried fish with fritters, tamarind juice, fresh Easter buns and cheese.

Selected traditional folk songs performed included Munzie Boat, Cardille Gone to Cuba, Chip Up Potato and Arise, Arise.
